About Glenn McLeod

A Lifelong Public Servant

Glenn McLeod is a lifelong public servant to the people of the Commonwealth. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Glenn learned early the values of community and service. Even as a student, Glenn was already serving Massachusetts as a special police officer, earning EMT certification, and volunteering weekly at the Holyoke Soldiers' Home to support veterans.

Glenn went on to serve nearly 30 years as a police officer, rising through the ranks from patrol officer to sergeant, detective sergeant, and lieutenant. During his career, he held every leadership position within the police union and built a reputation for integrity, fairness, and community engagement. His service ended abruptly in 2019 after a severe on-duty injury resulted in permanent disability, but the setback only furthered his drive to serve others.

Since retiring from the police force, Glenn has channeled his experience into community leadership. He mentored students through local nonprofits, volunteered with youth and Scouting groups, and contributed to regional trail development efforts. Glenn has also become more involved in local government, winning election to the Lunenburg Select Board.

Why Glenn is Running

Glenn is running for State Representative because he believes the Legislature has stopped listening to the people it serves. When over 72% of Massachusetts voters approved an audit of the Legislature, their voices were ignored. Meanwhile, hardworking families are being priced out of their communities as the cost of living continues to rise and affordability becomes increasingly out of reach.

With decades of public safety experience and an understanding of the challenges families and municipalities face, Glenn is ready to deliver the leadership and representation the 1st Middlesex District deserves. He believes in fiscal responsibility, government accountability, and putting the needs of Massachusetts families first.

Glenn lives in Lunenburg with his wife Cindy. Together, they have two children, Hayley and Connor. As a husband, father, and active community member, Glenn brings a personal understanding of the struggles and aspirations that define the lives of families throughout the 1st Middlesex District—and he's committed to fighting for them in Boston.
